# Editor

Prepare and edit images with layers, masks, text, shapes, and transformations.

Use the Editor to prepare an existing image without leaving the xFigura canvas. Edits are organized as layers and can be saved for continued work later.

## Work with layers

* Add and rename layers.
* Reorder layers to control which content appears on top.
* Adjust layer opacity.
* Show or hide individual layers.

## Add and adjust content

Use the available tools to add brush marks, text, and shapes, or transform existing content. The remove-background action can be used when an image needs to be isolated before compositing.

## Mask an area for generation

Create a mask when only part of an image should be changed. The mask can be passed into the next generation step so the selected area is edited while the rest of the image remains available as context.

## Save and continue

Save the edit before closing the Editor. Reopen it from the image to continue working with the saved layers and adjustments, or connect the result to another compatible node.
