# Image Node

Generate, transform, and edit images in an xFigura workflow.

Use the Image Node to generate an image from text, transform an existing image, or edit a selected area. The models and settings available depend on the input and workflow type.

## Text to image

Enter a prompt, choose an available image model, adjust the settings shown for that model, and generate. Completed results remain in the node and can be reused elsewhere on the board.

## Image to image

Connect a generated or uploaded image, then describe the variation or transformation you want. The downstream node uses the connected image as an input rather than starting from text alone.

## Inpaint an area

Use an inpaint workflow when only part of an image should change. Define the area with a mask, describe the intended edit, and run the generation.

## Continue the workflow

A completed image can be downloaded or connected to another compatible node. Use the [Editor](/xfigura-docs/generate/editor.md) for layered preparation and the [Upscale](/xfigura-docs/generate/upscale.md) node when an image needs a higher-resolution output.
