# Node Overview

Understand the node types, connections, and controls used to build xFigura workflows.

Nodes are the building blocks of an xFigura workflow. Each node accepts one or more inputs, performs a defined task, and produces an output that can be used elsewhere on the canvas.

## Core node types

## Connect nodes

Nodes use color-coded connections to distinguish different input and output types. Inputs appear on one side of a node and outputs on the other. Connect an output to a compatible input to continue the workflow.

Available connections depend on the node type and selected model. Some cross-modal combinations are not currently supported.

To revisit the original input for a node, select its input tag in the toolbar.

## Use the node toolbar

The toolbar provides access to the settings available for that node. Depending on the node, you can choose a model, configure generation parameters, review inputs, download completed media, or connect the output to the next step.
